However, during early training when the build-up of skeletal muscles is necessary trainers are recommended to provide Olympic Condition Mix. This may be replaced by Olympic Endurance Mix when races are in the programme.

Its’ high content soluble fibre and oil enable its’ energy sources to become available over long distances. It promotes the exploitation by the horse of its own fat reserves do conserving muscle glycogen and it assists the retention of fluid in the large intestine, required as a reserve water source during extended exercise.

It may be used in varying proportions with lower energy Olympic No. 1 Mix when working horses are given lighter exercise and where work output varies from day to day. The cooked / micronized cereal and protein sources and soya oil present ensure high starch, oil and protein digestibility in the small intestine and the alfalfa provides trace nutrients of special value.

No substances that contravene the Rules of Racing or of Competition are included in the formula. It provided all the micro and major- nutrients necessary for the health of horses.

The moderate protein content and excellent biological value ensures that a burden of excess waste nitrogen is avoided during competition. During early training if a build-up of skeletal muscles is necessary Olympic Competition Mix is recommended. Its’ high content soluble fibres enables its energy sources to become available over long time periods.

It may be used in varying proportions with lower energy Olympic No. 1 Mix when working horses are given lighter exercise or with flighty horses and where work output varies from day to day. The cooked / micronizes cereal and protein sources and soya oil present ensure their starch, oil and protein digestibility in the small intestine and the alfalfa provides trace nutrients of special value.

Olympic No. 1 Mix is a non-heating* feed designed for horses or ponies that are in light work, or resting Olympic No. 1 Mix provides all the micro and major nutrients for the health of horses.

It has lower energy content and the soluble fibre sources present enable its use in varying proportions with the higher energy performance feeds if necessary. The cooked/micronized cereal and protein sources present ensure high digestibility in the small intestine.

*A non-heating feed is less likely to produce excitable behaviour in some horses when fed at the recommended rate.

Olympic Mare & Foal Mix

Olympic Mare & Foal Mix are designed for breeding mares during the last 2 months of gestation and during lactation and its’ high protein content of excellent biological value makes it ideally suited as a feed for the growth of foals both pre- and post-weaning.
